The 2008 Horizon Report

...pity the poor presenters who were scheduled parallel with the Horizon Report launch!

Click on the image (below) to go to the Horizon Report wiki space (the report is also available for download from there)

For those of you who can't wait - the six featured themes are here:
(*spoiler warning - highlight to reveal)
Grassroots Video
Collaboration Webs
Mobile Broadband
Data Mashups
Collective Intelligence
Social Operating Systems

The launch itself started off like last years with Bryan doing the whole Elwood thing, but then the case was empty, Larry Johnson hammed it up from the podium and then on screen (and in SL) Alan Levine sacked Elwood and launched the report by walking through it in SL!

Can't believe I'm the first to comment on this one! Grassroots video - yes! (and I think we may be just about to get our act together at SHU with some interesting developments in LITS today...).
Mobile - UK beats US on this. Still waiting for good applications tho. Collective Knowledge - I wonder how ELI people are responding to the SHU DF call for participation on YouTube. Remind them this is a Collective Knowledge initiative!
I feel there are no surprises in this list and it's one that fits well with us in AI.
